Some homes get to break every rule, this is one of them. With no brief to answer to, HHHH (Heng Heng Huat Huat) became a study in how much pattern, colour and personality one space can hold before it tips over. Spoiler: quite a lot, when it's grounded right.

A grid-tile ceiling raft floats over the dining beams, wrapped in wooden trim to tie back to the warm wood below. The living room throws a quiet party around a console in primary colours, red, blue, and a yellow we like to call mustard. A coffee corner leans into wildly swirled Italian marble, finished with a proper ogee edge. The powder room commits fully, dark check climbing walls, floor and doorframe, with a little peephole punched into the door. The master calms things in olive green and warm wood, and the master bath turns wine-dark with a Rosso Levanto vanity. Two woods throughout, one warm and one deep, hold all the fun in place.

Because design doesn't have to be serious to be good. Heng heng, huat huat.
